Cattelan Italia Address free-standing bookcase
Designed by Paolo Cattelan, Address is the new free-standing bookcase by Cattelan Italia featuring a tree-style configuration that encompasses 360 degrees around its vertical axis. A dynamic, modular system, Address allows for maximum compositional freedom as well as a high degree of customisation as it can be adapted to a wide range of design requirements.
Each shelf can be freely positioned along the central pillar allowing the height, rotation and orientation of each individual shelf to be customised. With its ceiling mount and circular shelves, Address is highly versatile and can be positioned along a wall or serve as a central room feature where the bookcase becomes a sculptural light partition that separates without enclosing.
Multiple modules can be combined to create symmetrical compositions or spiral patterns, or more dynamic configurations where the shelf arrangement generates a visual balance of apparent randomness.
Each shelf is comprised of round trays in timber with lower edges that are elegantly rounded in a curvature that tapers towards the outside. Simple, rounded forms make Address a perfect contemporary furnishing element that is both practical and functional.
